Plant Riverside District
Savannah’s most electrifying destination — a transformed 1912 power plant on the banks of the Savannah River, now home to luxury hotels, a dozen restaurants and bars, live entertainment, and a world-class art collection. Plant Riverside District is unlike anything else in the South.
Plant Riverside District is Savannah’s most ambitious and exciting development in generations — a 670,000-square-foot mixed-use destination built around the city’s historic 1912 JEA power plant on the western waterfront. Anchored by the stunning JW Marriott Plant Riverside hotel, the district stretches along West River Street with an extraordinary collection of restaurants, rooftop bars, live music venues, and retail all connected by dramatic interior spaces filled with massive sculptural art installations.
What makes Plant Riverside truly special is the architecture. The original turbine halls, brick smokestacks, and industrial bones of the 1912 power plant have been preserved and repurposed into some of the most dramatic interior spaces in America. Step inside and you will find a 28-foot crystal chandelier, a 14-foot bronze gorilla, a full-scale fighter jet, and hundreds of curated art pieces — all within the walls of a building that once powered the city of Savannah.
